King James’s School
Overview
King James’s School, in Huddersfield required a new system and was pleased to the assistance and solution we provided.
King James’s School
King James’s School is a successful, oversubscribed comprehensive high school, serving a suburban area and a scatter of villages to the east and south of Huddersfield. It is situated approximately 2 miles from the centre of Huddersfield in a semi-rural position overlooking the Farnley Valley.
The School was designated a Specialist Science College in 2004. King James’s, whose origins go back to the thirteenth century, has occupied its present site since 1547. The school continues to go from strength to strength having being designated ‘outstanding’ in an Ofsted ‘Economics & Business Education’ inspection in March 2011.
Digital Displays
King James’s School needed a solution to deliver messages to pupils in selected areas of the school, although it needed to be professional, easy to use and support planned expansion.
The solution we provided was based on a basic server platform, minimising costs but providing a central management structure. A small computer was fitted within the local network cabinet, that delivers the content to the local screens.
There are large LCD screens in general areas such as the canteen, to ensure all pupils have access to all relevant information.
